Connor - 19 month update (a little late)

Just wanted to make an update on my little munchkin. He is doing well in some areas (speaking, coloring, playing)... other areas, not so well (sharing, tantrums). Here is a picture of my litte guy at lunch at Lago Maggiore. We took him to the lake last weekend for a night and we brought him to the zoo to see all of the animals. He really likes animals...

Connor is doing really well with his words. We stopped counting around 100, but its probably closer to 200 by now... I really don't know. He picks up at least 1 word a day if not more. When he's in the right mood, he repeats whatever you say! Which can be bad. He has started to put words together... which is fun. A couple of nights ago he was eating his bedtime snack and broke off a piece and held it out to David and said "Dada eat!". So cute! He repeats me when I say "There he is" when we find Spot in the Where's Spot book... but I'm not sure if he knows what it means. He makes a three word phrase sound like 1 word :)

Connor has been learning his colors, and pretty much knows them all now. He has a little trouble with yellow, but other than that, he is really good at them. His favorites (for the time being) are blue, black and orange! He should love Halloween!

We have been teaching Connor his shapes... he now knows (and can say) circle, square, triangle, and heart. We're working on rectangle... but that is kind of difficult. He loves loves loves circles. We draw together on his little table and he is constantly asking me to draw circles. David is much better at drawing on request. Connor has him draw planes, cars, trucks, boats, a donkey, etc.... you get the idea!! Connor has mastered drawing snakes (this is what we call his scribbles).

Yesterday, David taught him the letter 'A'. Connor now recognizes it, and can say it... but I'm not sure if he understands what it is. Probably not.

Connor loves playing soccer with Dada at the park. Connor runs around saying 'soccer ball, soccer ball'. He has gotten much better at kicking the ball and running after it. He can get it in the goal, but usually follows the ball in :) He also doesn't really understand the no-hands thing with soccer!

Oh well... I guess that is all for now. Still working on the sharing concept with Connor. He's not doing well with that! But I think that is common for his age. We'll see! We're off to Barcelona on Friday for 4 nights. I'll post some pictures when we return.
